Vincenzo Nuzzarello

Vincenzo Nuzzarello is an Italian author whose work explores television, storytelling, trauma, and the relationship between the screen and its audience.

The Reflected Screen grew out of years of repeated viewings, reading, research, and reflection on the world created by David Lynch and Mark Frost. Rather than treating Twin Peaks as a mystery to be solved or a collection of symbols to be decoded, Nuzzarello examines the series as a television mechanism that actively involves the spectator.

His writing combines close analysis with an accessible and personal voice, guiding the reader through complex ideas without losing sight of the emotional experience at the heart of Twin Peaks.

Why I Wrote This Book

I wrote The Reflected Screen because, after returning to Twin Peaks again and again, I began to feel that the series was doing something more than telling a story.

The screen no longer seemed like a passive surface. It had become a mirror.

Behind the investigation, the dreams, the humour, and the horror, I discovered a work that constantly questions the person watching it. This book is my attempt to follow that reflection and understand what Twin Peaks reveals not only about Laura Palmer, Dale Cooper, or the town itself, but about us as spectators.
